What do I need to wear to the lessons?
You will want to wear clothing that allows you to be flexible. Remember: these are just lessons, so dress casually.
Some people wear normal street clothes or active wear (you'll probably sweat a little bit). Men, you'll want to wear any shoe that allows your feet to pivot freely on the ball of your footp--preferably shoes with leather soles. Rubber-soled shoes are not recommended. Ladies, try to wear heels if you can. If you wear flats, also make sure that they allow your feet to pivot.
What is a group salsa lesson like? What should I expect over the course of the lesson?
Group salsa lessons are extremely fun. Not only do you learn something, but you meet new people while you're learning.
Lessons beging with a quick warm up. Then, when the teaching begins, everyone partners up and creates a large circle around the instructor. In the center of the circle, the instructor demontrates a salsa move and breaks it down into small segments. You'll practice each segment with your partner for about 5 minutes. After 5 minutes are up, the instructor will yell the word "ROTATE!!!" At this time, every girl will say goodbye to their current partner and move clockwise around the circle to the next guy.
Rotating partners happens the entire lesson.
After an hour and a half of instruction, the instruction part of the lesson is finished. You are then given another half hour to practice your new moves and to ask the instructor questions. You can also social dance with others and hang out with new friends!

Do I need to bring a partner with me to the lessons?
Absolutely not. In fact, it's best not to come with a partner since ladies will rotate partners every 5 minutes. So even if you do come with a partner, you'll be switching partners anyway. It is very important in the process of learning salsa to dance with different people. Switching partners trains each dancer to reinforce their leading or following technique.

For how many weeks are the lessons taught?
The lessons are progessive, which means each week you will learn new material. So...you can learn forever, if you'd like. Or you can stop once you feel you can dance confidently.
Can I just drop in to any class at any time? Or do I need to come when the lessons begin?
These lessons are designed for anyone to able to enter them at any time. So don't worry about not knowing enough before coming to a lesson. Each lesson begins with a review of the basics and then moves on to material that is new for everyone.
