Mambos Information Page

Mambos is a Private Salsa Club:

Mambos is a private, all-ages salsa club. We are not a private club because we want to be; we're a private club because we have to be.

All new guests must pay a one-time $5 membership fee. This means the first time you visit Mambos you will pay $15 total at the door to get inside. While you're paying, tell the doorman that you would like to become a member. He will give you a members form (or you can download it here and bring it with you) and then he will give you your very own Mambos Card.

With your Mambos Card in your possession now, every new visit will only cost you $10. It might sound expensive for the first time; but if you do your research, you'll find out Mambos is one of the least expensive options in the city--if not the least! In addition, you will also be entitled to discounts around town with your Mambos Card, including discounts to other big events, on shoes, salsa lessons, restaurants, etc. (Click here to see current card benefits.)

To save yourself some time at the door, print out the membership form. Fill it out and bring it with you on your first visit.

The Venue:

People say Mambos is a "salsa club that feels like one big house party." It even looks like a house that was converted into a salsa club. Mambos has two floors of dancing with one DJ pumping music throughout both floors.

Mambos is equipped with amazing lighting and effects, a state-of-the-art visual media system, and one of the best sound systems in the city. On an average night, Mambos has between 200-250 dancers between both floors throughout the evening. There is usually enough room for everyone to take the complimentary dance lessons between 9:30 -10:30, but please come early if you plan on taking the lessons. There are nights when it's difficult to find space on the floor.

Location:

Mambos address is 306 Stuart Street, Boston, MA 02116.

Click here for a detailed walking/driving map.

Mambos is only about 2 blocks away from the Arlington T stop on the Green Line. A few blocks away from the Back Bay T stop on the Orange Line. There are numerous parking garages (average is $9 for the whole night) and there is limited street-side parking. About 95% of our guests find free street-side parking within 15 minutes of circling around.

Because Mambos is a private club, there is no sign hanging outside that says “Mambos” before 9:30pm. There will be a sign hung outside at 9:30, just before the door opens for the lessons. If you come before 9:30, look for a bright glowing sign on the street that says “Flash’s.” The door to Mambos is next to it.

The Music:

Our motivation for opening the club was for the love of the music. So think of Mambos as that secret “spot” where you’ll hear amazing music every week.

As an added bonus, on special nights we will be inviting renowned DJs from out of town to bring their best to Boston! On these nights, the cover charge will be raised slightly to cover DJ traveling expenses. You will know more than a week in advance of these special events. Please join “Mambos Mail” on the bottom of this page to get weekly updates about our visiting DJs and special events.

Dance Lessons at Mambos:

We offer two lessons, both beginning at 9:30pm and ending at 10:30pm. All lessons are free with admission.

On the first floor, Mambos teaches a fun beginner-level salsa lesson. If you know absolutely nothing about salsa dancing before you enter the door, after the beginners lesson you'll know enough to dance all night long! No partner or experience necessary.

If you feel fairly comfortable with the basics, then you'll want to head to the second floor. On the second floor, Mambos offers advanced beginner lessons taught by some of the area’s best dance companies. In an effort to support and promote Greater Boston’s vibrant salsa community, Mambos invites different instructors every week! Our instructor schedule is posted at the bottom of www.mambosentertainment.com/salsafridays.html.

(Lessons are first come, first serve. Get in the door early!)

Hours of Operation:

Lessons: 9:30pm - 10:30pm
Dancing: 10:30pm - 1:30am+
